Meet Mija, a young girl who risks everything to prevent a powerful, multi-national company from kidnapping her best friend – a massive animal named Okja.
I started watching the movie not knowing what to expect . The idea behind it was so unique and I have never heard of something like this before.
The first part of the movie was filmed in Korea and it was so nice to get introduced to Okja in a natural setting and around the beautiful landscapes . I guarantee that you will fall in love with Okja as soon as you see her.
This heartwarming story sparks a new and refreshing light on the immoral problems the livestock industry seems to not care about. Okja is being taken by a multi-national company that tries to use its meat for the sole purpose of profit.
Moving on, now only was the story amazing , but so was the cast. You never realise how much you want to see Tilda Swinton,Michael Mitton ,Jack Gyllenhaal, Lily Collins and the others together ,as a cast until you watch this movie.Look at them:
Besides Mija and Okja, one character that seemed to stand out was Red , played by Lily Collins.
She is part of the organisation that wants to help Okja and she is the only female in the group, fact that lets her relate to Okja and lets her feel pain when the animal is captured, a performance which is brilliantly delivered by the one and only , Lily Collins.
In conclusion, this movie is such a touching piece of art that needs to be seen by as many people as possible . Here is the trailer if you want to check it out :
