Interview with Manolo Gonzalez Vergara

Manolo Gonzalez Vergara is an actor and director, known for Hot Pursuit (2015), Waking Up (2017) and Post-Mortem.

1.For the people who might not know you,who are you and what do you do?

I am an actor and writer.I just did a show with Anzu Lawson called “Guilty Party”. I also am in two movies that should be coming out this year called “Vandal” and “Pistachio”.

2.When did you decide you wanted to become an actor ?

I wanted to become an actor ever since I was a little kid, even before my mother became an actress. I was never one to love the sciences but rather I fell in love with art and I feel like acting suits me best.

3.What are some projects that you have worked on ?

I did a movie about a year ago called “Vandal”about a graffiti artist in Miami and that should be coming about soon. Another movie that I did was called “Pistachio” about horses and that should be coming out soon as well.

4.What are the best & the hardest things about acting?

The best thing about acting is that you do it because you like it and you also get to pick up a lot of  interesting skills that you probably wouldn’t learn in your day-to-day life. For example, when we did “Pistachio”, I had to learn how to ride a horse and act like a cowboy. As for the hardest things, people don’t usually see the long hours of filming, the audition process before landing a role and actually preparing for a role and learning the lines even before you start shooting.

5.What would your dream role be ?

My dream role would be James Bond but I don’t think that’s going to happen anytime soon. I would love to play fun, interesting, cool characters that have depth at the same time.

6.What are some artists that inspire you ?

I am a big fan of Jack Nicholson, Nathan Lane and Hugh Grant .I feel like Hugh Grant doesn’t always get the praise he deserves. He is so good in every project that he does , always charming and that is a hard thing to do.

8.Do you have any advice for people who want to work in the entertainment industry ?

All I would say is : don’t give up. It takes a really long time, sometimes it takes a few years before you even start booking anything and it doesn’t mean that you are not good at what you do and it is not personal so just keep going.I promise it is worth it !

9.Do you have anything to say to your fans?

I hope that you enjoy what you are watching and thank you for all the support you are giving me.

10.What do you have in mind for the future ?

I have no idea. I will just take things as they come along and enjoy this wild journey called life.

11.What is the best project that you worked on ?

They are all unique and beautiful in their own way and I learned something from each and every one of them so I feel like all the projects I worked on have been the best.

12.Do you prefer filming movies or series ?

What is nice about television is that if you manage to land a role on a show that does well, you will be working with the same people for years and years. It is really nice to go to work alongside people you know well because it is different when you film a movie. There you get to work with a group of people for a couple of months and then go on your separate ways and that can sometimes be sad.

13.What are some of your favorite Tv Shows & Movies ?

My favorite Tv show is decently Golden Girls. That is the best television show ever.Family guy, The Crown, Downton Abbey are awesome as well and ,for a movie, Young Frankenstein.

14.If you weren’t acting, what would you be doing ?

I would probably be a chef. I love cooking and getting the chance to learn new recipes.

15.What is one quote that you live by ?

“Life goes on”.

Thank you to Manolo for agreeing to the interview. He is really talented and I cannot wait to see his upcoming projects. You can find him and his work on Instagram andIMDb.
